Prior to Dr. Schadlu's retina fellowship, he was selected as the Chief Resident for Washington University in St. Louis.
This additional year gave him the opportunity to instruct young ophthalmologists in the art of ophthalmic surgery. He directed the eye trauma service for the entire university, and supervised the Barnes Eye Clinic.

Dr. Anita Schadlu completed her ophthalmology residency and fellowship in uveitis and ocular inflammation at Washington Univserity in St. Louis. Due to many, often severely advanced, cases of ocular inflammation that Dr. Schadlu has seen, she became interested in educating other eye care providers about these difficult conditions.

Dr. Shabari Seetharam's expertise covers a wide range of retinal disorders from macular degeneration to diabetic retinopathy, inflammatory conditions, peripheral retinal diseases, and hereditary retinal disorders. Dr. Anita Schadlu specializes in the full spectrum of retinal diseases, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and ocular inflammation. She has extensive expertise in the surgical and medical treatment of these diseases, and a special interest in inflammatory diseases of the retina and uvea.


She completed her ophthalmology residency and fellowship in uveitis and ocular inflammation at Washington University in St. Louis. Due to the many, often severely advanced cases of ocular inflammation that Dr. Schadlu has seen, she became interested in educating other eye care providers about these difficult conditions. This led to the publication of her book Review of Uveitis, multiple chapters for ophthalmology textbooks, and journal articles.


Dr. Schadlu proceeded with two years of vitreoretinal fellowship training at the world famous Wills Eye Institute. During this rigorous training and thanks to her wonderful mentors, she performed over 1,000 vitreoretinal surgeries and furthered her knowledge of medical retinal diseases.


Her desire to focus on quality patient care drove her to found a practice that reflects her own ideals. She believes that expertise and technology translate into the best possible care only by maintaining a true physician-patient relationship.


Dr. Schadlu is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She has authored publications in several peer-reviewed journals including the Archives of Ophthalmology and Current Opinions in Ophthalmology.

Ramin Schadlu, M.D.

Dr. Ramin Schadlu specializes in the complete array of retinal diseases, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachment. Dr. Schadlu completed his vitreoretinal fellowship at the renowned Barnes Retina Institute in St. Louis. His training afforded him extensive expertise in vitreoretinal surgery and advanced his knowledge of medical diseases of the retina, uveitis, and intraocular tumors.


Prior to his retina fellowship, he was selected as the Chief Resident for Washington University in St. Louis. This additional year gave him the opportunity to instruct young ophthalmologists in the art of ophthalmic surgery. He directed the eye trauma service for the entire university, and supervised the Barnes Eye Clinic. The trainees at Washington University honored Dr. Schadlu with the Golden Apple teaching award for his efforts.


After his rigorous training was complete, he joined the faculty at the prestigious Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. One of his clinics at Scheie was completely dedicated to the cutting-edge diagnosis and management of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).


Dr. Schadlu is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has authored numerous scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals including the American Journal of Ophthalmology, the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Graefe's Archives, and the journal for retina specialists, Retina.

Shabari Seetharam, M.D.

Dr. Shabari Seetharam's expertise covers a wide range of retinal disorders from macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, to inflammatory conditions, peripheral retinal diseases, and hereditary retinal disorders.


Dr. Seetharam obtained her medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine where she graduated with distinction as the Eli G. Alcorn award recipient for outstanding achievement in ophthalmology. She moved on to the prestigious Medical College of Wisconsin for rigorous residency training under esteemed faculty.


Dr. Seetharam was then selected for medical fellowship training in diseases of the retina at another medical and ophthalmic center of excellence, Northwestern University in Chicago. It was here that she furthered her skills in caring for patients with macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, hereditary retinal disorders, ocular inflammation and uveitis. She has treated thousands of patients with retinal diseases, while utilizing the most current therapeutic methods.


Dr. Seetharam is dedicated to protecting her patients from vision loss and to afford them visual improvement whenever possible. To this end, she keeps current in our dynamic subspecialty. She contributes to the field through her academic work, which has led to publication in the medical literature - most recently in the journal for retina specialists, Retina.
